STATE CITIZEN TRUST ACADEMY

Terms of Service

Rules governing access to our educational platform, digital products, courses, memberships, workshops, and related services.

Agreement and Important Notices

Effective date: August 4, 2026. By creating an account, placing an order, enrolling in a course, accessing protected material, or otherwise using the State Citizen Trust Academy, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the State Citizen Trust Academy website, accounts, courses, memberships, digital downloads, reports, workshops, tools, and related educational services offered through academy.statecitizentrust.org (collectively, the Services). If you do not agree, do not use the Services or complete a purchase.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your login credentials, and activity occurring through your account. Accounts and course access are personal and may not be shared, transferred, rented, or sold.

3. Educational Purpose; No Legal Representation

State Citizen Trust provides educational information, research tools, courses, templates, and commentary. The Services are not a law firm, legal representation, financial advice, tax advice, or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who has reviewed your individual facts and applicable law.

Purchasing or using a product or service does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, agency, or confidential professional relationship. Communications, course participation, document uploads, and educational reviews do not create legal representation unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.

4. No Guaranteed Result

We do not guarantee that a course, template, report, strategy, filing concept, research method, or educational service will produce a particular result. Courts, agencies, employers, financial institutions, opposing parties, and other decision-makers act independently. Testimonials and examples are not promises of future outcomes.

5. Orders, Pricing, and Payment

Prices, product descriptions, access periods, and included materials appear on the applicable product or enrollment page. You agree to provide current and accurate billing information and authorize the stated charge when submitting an order. We may correct material pricing or description errors, reject fraudulent orders, and add applicable taxes where required.

6. Digital Products — All Sales Final

All sales of digital products are final. Digital downloads, courses, recordings, reports, templates, checklists, worksheets, document packages, software access, and other electronically delivered materials are non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable once purchased, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

No refund is provided because a purchaser changed their mind, no longer needs the product, did not use or download it, purchased the wrong product, expected information or services not included in the description, lacks compatible software or equipment, or expected legal representation or a particular outcome.

If access was not delivered because of a verified technical error, or a file is corrupted, we will make reasonable efforts to restore access, resend the download, or provide a working replacement. Verified duplicate or incorrect charges may be corrected. See our Refund and Returns Policy.

7. Courses, Memberships, and Subscriptions

Course enrollment grants a limited right to access the included materials for the stated access period. Course content may be updated or reorganized to maintain accuracy, security, or instructional quality.

For recurring memberships or subscriptions, the price, billing interval, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be disclosed before purchase. By enrolling, you authorize recurring charges until cancellation. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not create a refund for the current or prior billing period.

8. Workshops and Individual Educational Services

Live workshops, appointments, record reviews, and individualized educational services may include additional scheduling, preparation, rescheduling, cancellation, or attendance terms on the applicable booking or product page. Missed sessions, late cancellations, completed preparation, delivered work, or services already performed may be non-refundable as disclosed at purchase.

9. License and Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, courses, reports, graphics, videos, audio, software, templates, compilations, and original educational materials are owned by or licensed to State Citizen Trust and protected by applicable law.

Unless a product states otherwise, your purchase grants a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for your personal educational use. You may adapt a purchased worksheet or template for your own matter, but may not resell, redistribute, upload, share, publish, teach from, sublicense, or use the materials to create a competing product or service.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You may not share credentials; bypass access controls; copy, scrape, harvest, or reverse engineer the Services; upload malware or unlawful material; misrepresent identity, credentials, affiliation, or authority; issue false process; impersonate an official; threaten unlawful action; interfere with a court, agency, witness, or proceeding; or use our name or materials to imply sponsorship, legal representation, or endorsement without permission.

11. User Submissions and Community Conduct

You retain ownership of materials you lawfully submit and represent that you have the right to use and disclose them. Do not upload material that violates confidentiality duties, court orders, protective orders, privacy rights, or intellectual-property rights. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit submitted material only as reasonably necessary to provide and support the requested Service.

Discussion areas and community features must be used respectfully. We may remove content or restrict access involving threats, harassment, discrimination, spam, impersonation, unlawful instructions, disclosure of protected information, or disruptive conduct.

12. Third-Party Services and Availability

The Services may rely on third-party payment processors, video platforms, meeting providers, websites, software, or integrations. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their separate availability, content, security, privacy practices, or terms.

We work to maintain reliable access but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security events, hosting failures, software updates, third-party outages, or events beyond our control may affect availability.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim warranties not expressly stated, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and suitability for a particular proceeding or objective. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, State Citizen Trust and its owners, instructors, contractors, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, opportunities, data, or goodwill; or decisions made based on the Services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability arising from a particular paid product or service will not exceed the amount paid for that product or service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless State Citizen Trust and its owners, instructors, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Services, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person’s rights, or content you submit.

16. Suspension, Termination, and Chargebacks

We may suspend or terminate access because of nonpayment, credential sharing, infringement, unlawful conduct, security risks, harassment, disruption, chargeback abuse, or material violation of these Terms. Termination does not create a refund for products or access already delivered.

Please contact us before filing a payment dispute so we can investigate billing or delivery issues. Access may be suspended while a chargeback is reviewed.

17. Electronic Communications and Changes

You agree that confirmations, notices, receipts, and policy updates may be provided electronically. We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the Services, law, technology, security, or business practices. The effective date will be updated, and continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

18. Governing Law and Venue

Except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by Maryland law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any action arising from these Terms or the Services must be brought in a state or federal court with lawful jurisdiction in Maryland.

19. Severability, No Waiver, and Entire Agreement

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the applicable product description, checkout disclosures, the Refund and Returns Policy, and any specific service terms form the entire agreement concerning the transaction or use of the Services.

20. Contact

Questions about these Terms, an order, access, or billing may be submitted through the Academy Contact Page. Include your name, account email, order number when applicable, and a concise description of the issue.
